Menu Setup

You can create a menu for Gone as you would do for any other theme. Go to “Appereance-Menus” and drag and drop the sites you want into the menu area. If you can not find a specific page make sure to check if the box that contains the site is displayed: On the top right of the page – click “Screen Options” and then check all areas you want to display.

IMPORTANT: You have to tell WordPress that this is the menu you want to use as primary menu! Scroll to the bottom of the page and check “Theme location – Primary Menu”

How to get the subtitle in the Menu items:

Gone features subtitles for the primary menu items. Click on arrow next to the menu item. You will see a field called “Description”. Add your subtitle there. Description box not showing? On the top right of the page – click “Screen Options” – check “Description”)

How to use the mega menu

Gone features a mega menu. Setting it up is quite easy. Click on the arrow at the right of any menu item. Mark “enable megamenu” and chose the amount of columns from the dropdown. Add a second level navigation item and then third level navigation items. The second level navigation will act as header for the third level navigation items.

For example: In the preview on themeforest we created a dummy item “Features” which is an item that doesn’t link anywhere. We enabled the mega menu feature and added two more dummy items: “Page Layouts” and “Special Types”. Underneath these we put actual items that link to certain pages etc.

You can create a dummy menu item by chosing “Links”. Add “#” as “URL” an a name of your choice for “Link Text”. “Links” is not showing as an option? On the top right of the page – click “Screen Options” – check “Links”.
